In 1991 Zlatan Plenkovi founded his winery on the small island of Hvar, only the second private winery since the fall of Communist Yugoslavia. His vision took him from poor fisherman to owning and operating one of the largest most influential wineries in Croatia. Although Zlatan has now passed away, his family still runs the winery in addition to Bilo Idro, their breathtaking marina-side restaurant and wine bar for which this wine was named. Although you may not recognize the grapes in the Marina Cuve, this wine is made in a fun, approachable style that reminds us of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
