Fabrice Durou is the current proprietor of his familys estate, Chteau de Gaudou, located in Cahors the ancestral home of Malbec. Coming from a long line of winemakers, Fabrice continues on his familys traditions in the vineyard by hand harvesting grapes and omitting the use of chemical treatments. Puro comes from the estates 40-year-old vines grown on steep, rocky hilltops and is meant to be an easy drinking, approachable expression of this traditional French grape. Bottled unfined and lightly filtered with tiny amounts of sulfur additions, this wine is a steal at such a friendly price. Aromas of blueberries and spiced plums lead to a medium-bodied palate with bright, refreshing acidity and juicy fruit.
