Variety: Chardonnay
Starting in 1858, the Pierre Peters domain began. At the time the fruit was sold off all to trading businesses. Fast forward to 1919, Camille Peters, the third generation at the time, begun to harvest, handle, and bottle the wine himself. In fact, he was one of the first in the region to do this himself; most growers sold their grapes. After 150 years of maintaining their traditional Blanc de Blanc Champagnes, a rosé was produced in 2009. Grower Champagne producer Pierre Péters has developed an international following as one of the best producers in Côte des Blancs. Today Pierre Peters is one of the largest producers of grower Champagne.
Les Montjoly’s is a single-vineyard cuvée harvested from seven parcels. As the only site in Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger where ‘argile a silex’ is found, this wine’s terroir is truly exceptional. After vinification the wine is aged for 6 years on the lees.
