Olga Raffault Chinon Les Picasses 2020

Les Picasses is the flagship single-vineyard Cabernet Franc from Olga Raffault, one of Chinon’s most quietly legendary multi-generational estates. The mid-slope vines on south-facing chalky clay-limestone are over fifty years old, farmed organically, and the wine is aged for two to three years in large foudres of oak and chestnut (typically 30-50 hectoliters) before further bottle age. The 2020 shows the structured, slow-evolving profile Picasses is famous for: juicy raspberry fruit framed by leather, earth, and chalky tannins.
