Variety: Pinot Noir
Jean-Marc Vincent feels like an insider’s insider. His work sits quietly at the top of the game, without spectacle, and rewards close attention. Farming is handled with unusual precision, including higher-than-average vine density in select parcels, most notably his cuvée “Les Vignes Denses,” planted at 17,000 vines per hectare, along with training vines by braiding growth rather than cutting and hedging, a method that demands time and discipline but keeps vines balanced and alive. The wines reflect that commitment, showing depth without excess and detail without forcing the issue. Among growers who know the Côte de Beaune well, Vincent is regularly mentioned in the same breath as the best, not because he chases attention, but because the wines earn it year after year.
Old vine Pinot Noir from estate parcels in Santenay, approximately 0.06 hectares planted in 1949 on limestone and clay. Gently handled, fermented in barrel with limited new oak, then aged on its lees without racking.
