Origins & Craftsmanship
The Glenlivet, one of Speysides flagship distilleries, matured this expression for 14 years primarily in bourbon and sherry casks. A select portion of the whisky is then finished in cognac casks (for about six months) to infuse additional fruit and raisin character.
This selective finish is marketed as the Cognac Cask Selection.
The ABV is 40%, and the expression adheres to Glenlivets house style of clarity, brightness, and balance.
Tasting Profile
Nose: Bright and inviting, with poached pears, mandarin syrup, honey, apricot jam, and notes of cinnamon bread. Subtle raisin and chocolate-olive grapes round out the bouquet.
