This is the Da de Muertos limited release from G4, produced at El Pandillo by Felipe Camarena. Its built on the same foundation as the core lineup, but with a heavier emphasis on barrel aging and presentation. Each release comes in a highly detailed, colorful box tied to the Da de Muertos theme, and the packaging varies by edition, which is part of the appeal for collectors.
The tequila itself is an aejo aged for about a year, often in used American whiskey barrels, which adds more depth and structure than the standard G4 expressions.
On the nose, it opens with cooked agave, vanilla, and toasted oak, with some darker notes starting to come through. The palate is fuller and more developed, showing caramel, baking spice, cocoa, and a touch of that slightly savory, mineral edge that G4 is known for. The oak is more present here, but it doesnt take over. It still reads clearly as G4, just with more weight and length.
This is a more dialed-up version of the house style. Less about pure agave clarity, more about depth and layering from the barrel. Still balanced, still grounded, just pushed a step further.
A strong bottle for sipping, and an easy one for collectors given the limited release and the presentation.
