Faust is the Huneeus family’s Napa Cabernet project, born in 2002 as a sibling to their flagship Quintessa. The 2021 leans heavily on their Coombsville estate vineyard in southeastern Napa, rounded out with fruit from Yountville, Oakville, and Rutherford. The result is classic California Cab in magnum format: full-bodied, plush, and built for the long haul. Black currant, blackberry, and steeped cherry come wrapped in a ganache-like richness, with enough tannin to age comfortably for another decade. The 1.5L bottle ages more slowly and pours more dramatically than a standard 750ml. Bring it to a dinner that matters.
