Duquesne is one of the oldest brands of rum from Martinique, and is named after a French admiral who landed on the island in the 18th century. Like most, if not all, other Martinique rums, Duquesne is an agricole rhum distilled from fresh sugarcane juice, giving the spirit a noticeably aromatic quality and flavour.

Nose: A classic agricole nose, grassy with enticing elements of honey. Just nosing this is a pleasure.
Palate: Funky vegetal notes, and a few seconds later bursts into sweet fruit.

In the heart of a verdant valley in the south of the island, the La Mauny distillery invites you to discover all the stages in the manufacture of its AOC Martinique rums. Started in 1749, this is the largest distillery in the French West Indies and the largest distiller of rhum agricole in the Caribbean. But a series of fires have significantly hurt the production of this well known rhum brand.
