Variety: Pinot Noir
The Domaine Chantal Lescure story is rooted in Burgundian family farming and a deep respect for the land. After Chantal Lescure and her husband Xavier Machard de Gramont founded the estate in 1975, their sons Aymeric and Thibault continued to expand a vision that placed organic farming and craft at its center, working alongside longtime technical director François Chavériat. The domaine comprises roughly 18 hectares spread across both the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, including holdings in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, Pommard, and Volnay. Today the wines reflect a low-intervention approach in the cellar and an intimate understanding of each parcel. Under this philosophy, the domaine has become known for organic wines that feel alive, expressive, and grounded in their diverse Burgundian terroirs.
Pommard Premier Cru Les Bertins comes from a historic site defined by clay rich soils over limestone that give the wine its power and structure. The fruit is farmed organically and harvested by hand to protect purity. In the cellar the grapes ferment with native yeasts and the team avoids aggressive extraction to let the finesse of the terroir shine through. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels with a restrained approach to new wood. This gentle and thoughtful élevage shapes a Pommard that is both deep and refined, carrying the precision of its vineyard and the care of its winemaker into every bottle.
