Produced by the Prohibition distillery in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in New York comes Bootlegger 21 New York Gin. They make this tipple using a combination of only 5 botanicals – juniper, orris root, bitter orange, lemon verbena and coriander – and a base spirit of 100% corn.
Bootlegger 21 New York Gin Tasting Notes
Nose: Juniper-forward, closer to a London Dry.
Palate: Very smooth and refreshing with juniper and a balance of citrus.
Finish: Clean and smooth.
Distillery Information
Prohibition Distillery,is located two hours north of NYC in Roscoe, NY. The distillery is situated in the town’s old fire house, and the logo on every bottle of Spirits produced is a nod to the Florian Cross; the symbol of the patron saint of firefighters. The distillery houses a 1,200 gallon (yes, gallon) pot still called ‘Pearl’, as well as a 300-gallon finishing still, as well as a bottling room where all the Spirits are hand-filled, corked and labeled. Prohibition Distillery produces Vodka, Gin, and Bourbon, and has a tasting room on site, as well as a bar for the summer months.
