Chassagne-Montrachet is known for its white wines, but we must never forget its history. For many years, the Chassagne appellation produced red wines. This cuvée offers what I most appreciate about Burgundy. The color is subtle, the tannins are delicate, and the bouquet is intense and complex. In terms of style, I easily compare it to Pommard Clos des Poutures. Since the reputation of Chassagne reds does not match that of the whites, this is an estate wine with excellent value for money that I recommend keeping in the cellar.
